Software Engineer, Application Processor Power Management Firmware
Minimum qualifications: + Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. + 2 years of experience with software development in C, C++, and Python with data structures/algorithms. + 2 years of experience in software development for embedded systems. + 2 years of experience testing and launching software products on embedded devices. Preferred qualifications: + Experience with embedded operating systems (e.g. LK, FreeRTOS, etc.). + Experience in distributed systems, message passing primitives, real-time behavior. + Experience in power aware engineering practices. + Experience in Linux kernel driver development. + Experience in C/C++ development for firmware applications. + Excellent debugging skills with GNU Debugger (gdb), and JTAG debug solutions. We aim to make people's lives better through technology. + Develop firmware for embedded microcontrollers in complex SoC projects. And engage in cross-functional with Google teams to build exceptional APIs. + Review hardware designs, prototype Software (SW)-based Hardware (HW)-mocks, and engage in HW/SW co-design efforts to engineer effective platform power management. And work with early hardware prototypes, FPGAs, SW-simulation of SoC and subsystem designs to verify and enable functionality. + Write and extend Linux and embedded OS drivers to interface with power management and metric modules. And develop SW-based HW-simulations to allow early explorations of SW/HW interfaces and support early architecture decisions. + Write production level code, and support it through to product launch. And develop and maintain continuous integration tests, participate in scrum meetings, and perform code reviews.
