At GrabFin, we empower the people of Southeast Asia, from consumers and drivers to every-day entrepreneurs, by ensuring financial inclusion for the underserved. The team is building solutions by allowing our partners (i.e. drivers and merchants) to get access to financial services (lending and insurance) products for their everyday needs.

Get to Know the Role 

We are looking for Backend Engineer specializing in Java to join our engineering team in Jakarta, Indonesia. As a Backend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing robust and scalable server-side applications that power our cutting-edge products. You will be reporting to an Engineering Manager. This role is onsite based on Jakarta.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

Develop, and maintain scalable, and secure backend systems using Java and related technologiesCollaborate with other teams to define, design, and ship new featuresWrite clean, efficient, and well-documented codeImplement RESTful APIs and microservices architectureOptimize application performance and troubleshoot complex issuesParticipate in code reviews and help improve our development practicesWork with databases (SQL and NoSQL) to ensure efficient data storage and retrievalIntegrate third-party services and APIsParticipate in the full software development lifecycle, from concept to deploymentStay up-to-date with new trends and technologies in backend development

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field3+ years of experience in backend development using JavaStrong proficiency in Java programming and the Spring FrameworkExperience with RESTful APIs and microservices architectureSolid understanding of database management systems (SQL and NoSQL)Familiarity with version control systems, preferably GitExperience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCPKnowledge of containerization technologies like DockerExperience with CI/CD pipelines and agile development methodologiesJava certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE Programmer) will be beneficial.Knowledge of scalable and distributed systems is beneficial
