Software Engineer, Project Kuiper Optical Inter-Satellite Link

Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.


Key job responsibilities
* Develop highly reliable flight software, ranging from low level control to autonomous system behaviors for RTOS and/or bare-metal environments
* Develop supporting test, validation, and simulation software infrastructure
* Participate in the full life-cycle of software development, from requirements definition and design all the way to deployment and maintenance in orbit
* Work closely with software, hardware and systems engineers to support design, build, integration, test, and deployment of high speed optical communication systems

A day in the life
As a Software Engineer, you will be a member of the Optical Inter-Satellite Link team, focusing on the design, implementation, and verification of software systems to control and monitor high-speed optical communications. You will be responsible for identifying top level requirements and ensuring high quality and innovative designs are pursued, while also supporting other Project Kuiper colleagues with improving embedded system designs.

You will work with a multi-disciplinary team of top-notch engineers and collaborate closely with the optical, electrical, firmware, and opto-mechanical development teams.
