Job Description

To our tech center in Prague, we are looking for a Software Engineer, Scientific Data Analytics, for biological and chemical research data.

Purpose of the role

In this position, you are responsible for cleaning and preprocessing data, conducting exploratory analysis, data dashboarding and predictive analytics to extract insights and make data-driven decisions. 

In this position, you play a vital role in integrating and analyzing diverse data sources, collaborating with cross-functional teams. 

In this position, you will support the identification of potential drug candidates, optimization of lead compounds, and the discovery of biomarkers and synergies. Contribute to the advancement of drug discovery processes (Chemical and Biological).

Develops and supports products, tools and other technology applications for downstream data and application consumption

Collaborates with engineering teams to develop front end and back-end code based on prioritized requirements/user stories

Develops working software & unit tests based on the solution design within the solution’s architecture

Design, develop and maintain data pipelines to extract data from a variety of sources and populate data lake and data warehouse

Main responsibilities

Designs and develops user-centric data visualization solutions utilizing complex data sources.

Translates business requirements into specifications

Collaborates with data engineering, data science & IT teams to deliver business friendly dashboard & reporting solutions

Enables delivery of data-analytics and business intelligence projects

Communicates intensively with other platform/competencies to comprehend new trends and methodologies being implemented/considered within the company ecosystem.

Understands the customer/stakeholder’s business needs/priorities and helps building solutions that support our business goals

Qualifications

Academic level – e.g., graduated bachelor’s or master’s degree in one of the STEM fields ideally applied on Biochemistry. Ideally with some experience in Life Science

Strong programming skills in Python, R or another scripting language

Solid programming skills and knowledge of data bases, SQL, Informatica and statistical methods

Experience with Dashboarding Tools like Power BI, Spotfire, Pipeline Pilot / KNIME

Experience with data storage and processing technologies (e.g., SQL, ETL jobs, DataBricks, NoSQL)

Effective at working with business partners to understand their needs to translate them into clear requirements

Experience with DevSecOps practices, such as continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD), containerization (e.g., Docker), version control systems (e.g., Git)

Domain knowledge Biology and/or Chemistry

Fluent in English; good communication skills
