The Developer is responsible for designing smaller application changes, taking direction from senior developer for larger/complex application changes, and works within a cross-functional development team to deliver high quality, user-friendly solutions for our business partners and customers.
**Responsibilities**
**Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Responsible for complex and highly integrated software systems developed in a fast-paced agile-like development environment.
+ Analyzes, debugs and modifies software enhancements
+ Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC)
+ Tuning queries, writing stored procedures, performing indexing, and other DB elements in **Sybase** and **Oracle**
+ Monitoring database system details within Sybase and Oracle, including stored procedures and execution time, and implementing efficiency improvements
+ Migration of DB services from one server to another
+ Participate in the review of project deliverables including requirement specifications, functional design documents and technical design documents
+ Collaborates with technical and non-technical associates to understand user and organizational needs specific to at least one system process or component
+ Analyze, maintain, and track defects for testing.
+ Participate in code reviews providing positive/constructive feedback and accepting feedback about your own code
+ Support of weekly database code migrations as well as production code migrations
+ Diagnosing and resolving production questions/issues
**Qualifications**
**Required Skills:**
**Bachelor’s in computer science** (or equivalent) with 3+ years of industry experience in **database development** .
+ Technical competence with relational DBMSs such as Sybase, Oracle, SQLServer
+ SQL and Transact-SQL development experience
+ Strong Oracle database – Oracle SQL and Oracle PL/SQL programming experience.
+ Experience in developing PLSQL Packages, Procedures, Functions, Triggers, Views and Exception handling.
+ Relational Database modeling.
+ Able to extend databases and database devices
+ Fluent in shell scripting
+ Demonstrates good judgement, creativity and ingenuity in proposed technical solutions
+ Can write design specifications and use appropriate charts and diagrams to illustrate your ideas
+ Should be a good team player and quick self-learner
+ Time management, detail-oriented, able to multi-task, prioritize and able to quickly change priorities.
+ Displays excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language.
**Additional Skills that are a plus:**
+ Self-starter as well as a team player
+ Experience working with remote team
+ Good at documentation
+ Detail oriented with excellent communication skills
+ Working knowledge of MS Products
+ Knowledge of task management tools is a must, knowledge of JIRA desired
+ Knowledge of Python Programming
