The Software Engineer L3 provides technical expertise in the field of software engineering as it relates to the business objectives of Asurion. This role will design, code, test, debug and support systems that meets organizational standards and functional requirements. The position will require talent to solve complex problems by identifying innovative solutions for approved projects, system improvements, and ad-hoc or emergency requests.

The Software Engineer 3 works with the Sr Tech Leads & Tech Core for integrating different systems and for full ownership of CI/CD with comprehensive test coverage. This resource is a part of the tech core paving & directing path to the team as we work on providing a set of proven choices of tools and processes that are effective in building, deploying, and operating highly available services and solutions to allow the product teams to focus on delivering exceptional products while maintaining a consistent and frictionless developer experience. This role helps establish and ensures new best DevOps practices are implemented effectively using his/ her experience with a broad range of technologies to help drive improvements to our platforms & services.

Responsibilities & Expectations

Implementation of automation as well as monitoring and alerting practices for cloud implementations in high-quality architecture & to ensure that best practices are carried out across the globe within the PSE organization.Identify application reliability and availability improvements, and establish and build solutions to continue to drive an improved experience for our customersInstall and configure solutions, implement reusable components, translate technical requirements, and perform script maintenance and updatesContinually drive automation and efficiencies to increase productivity and reduce costs.Write technical procedures and documentation including operational runbooksLearn and identify new technologies and related tools to adopt to grow the agile development environmentBe flexible in to participate in on-call rotation, including weekends and holidaysContributes to AFrame -PSE’s Accelerate Framework through adoption & governance of Asurion CDK, EKS/ Argo, Shared Github Workflows/ Runners, Logging/ Monitoring Solutions, Backstage, Config Management, Test Automation, KPI/ Metrics Aggregation & Cloud Spend.Having good communication skills, be knowledgeable about the latest industry trends, and highly innovative.Helps in addressing relationship gaps between offshore & onshore in a collaborative PSE culture.

Requirements

BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, Degree in computer science, information systems, or related field or equivalent experience5+ years working experience as a DevOps EngineerExperience & proficiency with git or github workflows.Problem solving attitude & support background on service & system reliability and availability.5+ years of application support or devOps experience dealing with global 24x7 application production sites in multi regions setup, and experience managing such technical resources.Linux & AWS experience on EKS & CDK.Good in programming or scripting language like Python, Ruby, Go, Bash, Java or NodejsPrevious experience working on a 24x7 cloud or SaaS operation team.Experience with infrastructure management and monitoring like PagerDuty, OpenSearch, ELK/ ESS, BugSnag, Grafana & PrometheusSupport experience on shift security practices left incorporating them into the DevOps cycle, ensuring that implementing essential security checks don’t impede time to market with profiency in DevSecOps tools like Sonarqube, Snyk, or brinqaHandson experience in creating an automated delivery pipeline leveraging AWS CDK, EKS, in building IAAC to manage all infrastructure components & IAAS.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong communication, collaborative & analytical skills.Good to have experience in AI/ML is a plus, applying AI to practical and comprehensive technology solutions/ experience with ML, deep learning, Python, NLP
