DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions. Identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture. Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Consultant, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: design and development of enterprise software applications using Java/J2EE programming language; Spring and Spring Boot framework to build microservices and deploy as REST API; build and dependency management tools including Maven; data processing formats including JSON/XML; AWS to build cloud native solutions; ECS and EMR; Amazon Athena to build data analytics solutions and observability tools including Cloudwatch and SQS to monitor the metrics for the applications; building and designing data models using Relational and NoSQL databases such as Amazon RDS or DynamoDB and storage services such as AWS S3; software testing methodologies including Junit, regression testing and performance testing to make applications ready for production; code repository tools such as Git or Bitbucket to manage and collaborate code with multiple development teams.
