What will you be doing?

Barclays Services LLC seeks Software Engineer in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available):

1. Develop REST based services which are highly scalable and resilient and ready to containerize.
2. Use Java and J2EE to develop highly performant and scalable applications.
3. Develop applications using messaging systems such as Apache, Kafka to capture real time customer events and convert them to features for predictions and modelling.
4. Develop micro services to break down complex functionalities into tiny pieces of simple and highly efficient services for better performance and maintainability.
5. Utilize J2EE technologies to develop readily deployable web/batch applications within a short period of time.
6. Utilize source code management tools, such as Maven, Jenkins, Bitbucket, to build Java applications into units deployable to public cloud.
7. Use software development lifecycle tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and SonarQube, for day-to-day activities.
8. Deploy highly scalable, serverless, and containerized applications on private and public cloud platforms such as AWS.
9. Work in an agile methodology driven project setup. Participate in all the agile ceremonies.
10. May telecommute.

Salary / Rate Minimum/yr: $151,819 per year
Salary / Rate Maximum/yr: $167,001 per year

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any another type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
