Software Engineer
**CTG is seeking to fill a Software Engineer opening for our client in Rochester, MN.** **Location:** Remote **Duties:** + Design and build back-end services that support data-centric clinical and analytic applications + Develop cloud-based microservices that meet targets for uptime, accuracy, resiliency, and scalability + Collaborate with data engineering, platform, and solution teams to build robust applications + Translate product requirements into code in partnership with Product Owners, Managers, and Architects + Build services supporting data warehousing, big data, cloud computing, business intelligence, analytics, and machine learning + Engage in DevOps, Agile, CI/CD processes and frameworks + Write code in high-level languages such as Go, Python, or Java + Use deployment automation/configuration management tools like Azure Pipelines, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, CloudFormation, or Terraform + Maintain thorough documentation of processes and source code + Troubleshoot issues through expert root cause analysis and system/data investigation + Effectively communicate with peers, leadership, and stakeholders + Work independently or under moderate guidance on mostly routine assignments **Skills:** + Ability to work with a variety of open-source and cloud-based technologies + Experience with Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure + Strong background in databases, analytics, big data systems, or business intelligence products + Proficient in developing scalable, high-performance, distributed systems + Knowledge of healthcare-related software development is a plus + Proficient in modern application development frameworks and best practices + Understanding of full software development life cycle, including version control, testing, and operations + Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps principles **Experience:** + Minimum of 1 year experience in software engineering (or internships) or + Minimum of 2 years developing applications/services in high-level programming languages such as C, C++, Go, Java, or C# + Demonstrated problem-solving and time management skills + Technical aptitude for designing and implementing scalable software solutions **Education:** + Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required. The expected base salary for this position ranges from $70.00/hour to $75.00/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
