Software Engineer

Position Overview:

A Principal Engineer for software will be responsible for the development of products and providing creative solutions associated with the design, development, and sustaining engineering for our new and existing software product portfolio. The successful candidate will possess solid hands-on technical abilities, an excitement and energy for product development, and a passion for their work and the impact it has on meeting the needs of patients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Responsible for the architecture and design of a module/project, making architecture and design choices for new product development, maintenance activities, and field issue resolution.

- Technically lead maintenance activities, field issue resolution, working with local and globally distributed teams with a hands-on approach for solving issues.

- Review and approve the design and code of a module/project/defect fixes.

- Demonstrate customer focus by ensuring quality of software releases and timely resolution of field-reported issues.

- Analyze and understand the requirements.

- Identify key module/product level technical risks and assist the project manager in developing mitigation and recovery plans.

- Review work products and ensure the quality of deliverables.

- Provide input to the test strategies at a product level.

- Provide guidance to development and test teams with respect to overall design and development.

- Lead and coach team members.

- Drive the application of principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring, and testing techniques.

- Own and drive continuous improvement activities by identifying and appropriately escalating process and product quality gaps.

Hard SkillsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering discipline, or equivalent.5 years of experience in a software engineering role with experience in PC-based applications.Excellent software architecture design and implementation skills.Expertise in development and maintenance of Software for PC-Based/Embedded systems.Strong Object-Oriented development and design knowledge and experience.Deep understanding of technology software development principles: Object-oriented architecture, Design Patterns.Programming: C, C#, .NET application development.Knowledge of SQL Database, working knowledge on SQL Server Express or pgSQL relational database.Development and Continuous Integration: Visual Studio/Eclipse, SVN, Git.OS: Windows.Experience in technically leading project teams involving SW architects and SW design engineers.Demonstrated success in delivering results on technical challenges.Good understanding of Healthcare domain regulations and standards and Medical software development process.
