Job Description
We specialize in the design, development, and manufacturing of tether-powered aerial solutions, revolutionizing the government and commercial markets for long-duration, small footprint aerial surveillance, and secure long-range communications. Our technology allows drones to remain on-station in the air almost indefinitely, providing continuous power and high-bandwidth data through a thin tether link, contributing to various sectors, including Army integrated tactical network and recent robotic combat vehicle (RCV) efforts. As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will be a critical contributor to the design, development, and maintenance of software and firmware for our high-performance aerial systems, ground station, and test fixtures.
ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop software and firmware for drone systems.Maintain the efficiency of the software repository and version control systems.Assist in overall system architecture design as well as high-level software architecture.Participate in post-mission log investigations for failure analysis and insights into flight operations and aircraft performance.Provide technical input and support to the software engineering team.Contribute to product roadmap and the maturation of the software design process.Engage in various software processes including Trade Studies, Concept, PRD, and CDR.Essential SkillsProficiency in C++, Python, and embedded systems programming.6 years of specialized experience in robotics/autonomous systems development.Deep experience with robotics frameworks (ROS, DDS) and real-time control systems.Proven work with computer vision, ML object detection, and autonomous navigation.Strong full-stack expertise: embedded systems, backend services, and mobile apps.Experience with Linux, firmware, embedded software, and embedded Linux.Additional Skills & QualificationsEmbedded software development specifically for hardware applications.Experience with navigation, computer vision, machine learning, and hardware/software integration.Currently pursuing MS in Computer Science while working.Complex robotics system integration.Real-time autonomous systems development.Cross-platform software architecture.Military/defense domain expertise.Experience with software release control and distribution mechanics preferred.Experience with software-defined PID control systems, Robot Operating System (ROS), and autonomous navigation.Familiarity with various computer vision sensor technologies and standard COTS flight controllers.Willingness to travel as needed for demos, customer meetings, and relevant industry events.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $106000.00 - $120000.00
