Job Title: Software Engineer
Job Description

As a software engineer for Submarine Combat Systems, you will be part of a cross-functional team responsible for delivering advanced mission capabilities to the US and Australian submarine forces. This role requires strong technical skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to solve challenging problems quickly and efficiently.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain software for submarine combat systemsCollaborate with a cross-functional team to deliver mission-critical capabilitiesWrite and test code in C++, Java, Python, and other programming languagesUtilize Linux-based operating systems, such as Red Hat/CentOSImplement and manage containerization and microservicesUse CI/CD tools to streamline development processesMonitor system performance using Prometheus and GrafanaEnsure software meets Department of Defense security clearance requirementsEssential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field2-5 years of job-related experience or a Master's degreeProficiency in C++ and Java programming languagesExperience with Linux operating systemsKnowledge of Kubernetes, Microservices, Python, Ansible, and HelmFamiliarity with CI/CD processesStrong understanding of software development processes and engineering conceptsDepartment of Defense Secret security clearance at the time of hireU.S. citizenshipAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience with JavaScript and Spring BootCreative problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work effectively in collaborative team environmentsAgile experience preferredWork Environment

The role is based on-site in Fairfax until April, with some flexibility for remote work afterward. The work environment is modern and well-equipped, with options for a 9/80 work schedule if desired. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $40.00
