The MAI recommendation platform team works on a unified system providing personalized content feeds for billions of users over hundreds of billions of documents. Now we are powering the feeds on MSN, Edge browser, Windows, and different scenarios including news, shopping, weather, finance, etc. We run the service across multiple geographically distributed data centers, balancing latency, efficiency, stability, agility and debuggability. We build the system end to end, including data collection with all the available data sources, model training infrastructure, collaborative filtering, document indexing, user signals handling with NRT pipeline, online recall and hosting various ranking models from our relevance partners. We are looking for a **Software Engineer** to join us.

In the team, you will leverage open-source technology, such as Kafka and Spark, to collect and aggregate user signals; you will dive into the system design and C++/C# implementation details to get highly efficient online serving component; you will also talk to data scientist and algorithm engineer to build state of art machine/deep learning system. **Responsibilities**
+ Ship high-quality, well-tested, secure, and maintainable code
+ Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with engineering, data scientists and product teams.
+ Design and develop large-scale distributed software services and solutions in collaboration with teammates.
+ Design services with a keen focus on high availability and scalability, robustness, and observability.
+ Take end-to-end responsibility for the development, observability, quality, testing, and production readiness of the services you build.
**Qualifications**
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 2+ years of professional experience designing and building software.
+ Experience with theoretical fundamentals including, but not limited to data structures, algorithms, time complexity and space complexity, lock-free data structures, multi-threaded architecture etc.
**Additional or Preferred Qualifications:**
+ 5+ years of professional experience designing and building software.
+ Experience with large scale distributed system.
+ Experience on recommendation area.
Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
