Software Engineer

McLeansville, NC

Contract Position

$53.50-$48.50/Hour 

Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain command and control applications using Java in Linux and Windows environments.Design, implement, document, and integrate software solutions for national security programs.Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to develop enterprise software solutions.Support software testing, deployment, and DevSecOps implementation.Optimize software for performance, security, and scalability.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.5+ years of experience (or Master's degree + 3 years of experience). Agile experience preferred.Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.Proficiency in Java development (Maven, Spring/Spring Boot).Experience with Web Services/API backend development (REST, server-side implementation).Strong understanding of enterprise software documentation (ICD/IDD).Hands-on experience in software testing (unit, integration, automation).Familiarity with modern DevSecOps tools (Jira, GitLab, Nexus, SonarQube).Knowledge of Model-Based Software Engineering (MagicDraw, Teamwork Cloud, code generation).Experience deploying containerized microservices (Kubernetes, Docker, Podman).Background in inter-process messaging systems (RabbitMQ).Experience with fiber optic networking (ATM/Sonet) and cybersecurity implementations (OAuth2, API tokens).
