Job Description
We are seeking a self-motivated and experienced Software Engineer to develop software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, and investigating problem areas. The role involves following the agile software development lifecycle, evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop software solutions by studying information needs and investigating problem areas.Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.Improve operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures.Update job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment.Protect operations by keeping information confidential.Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.Accomplish engineering and organization mission by completing related results as needed.Design software systems that scale to hundreds of users.Produce maintainable, testable, extensible, clean, well-documented code according to system design.Participate in new releases for existing software products.Develop time estimates for development tasks.Participate in code review.Use revision control and bug tracking systems.Review Agile sprint output documents for completeness and report missing items to the team.Review software releases for risk and offer release recommendations.Review project procedures for potential quality issues and offer suggestions to help mitigate those issues.Essential Skills3-10 years of experience in software development.Experience in full stack development, including front and back end development.Proficiency in Python scripting languages.Experience with web applications, web development, and web services.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.Experience with Angular and TypeScript.B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, related field, or equivalent work experience.3-5 years of hands-on programming experience.Experience working with Agile teams and understanding Agile/SCRUM methodologies.Strong understanding of software development methodologies.Proficiency in both object-oriented and scripting languages.Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to multi-task.Experience with revision control systems and build systems.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience as a tester and/or in Quality Assurance is a plus.Software packaging and deployment experience preferred.Experience creating web services using Python.Web application development experience with HTML5, CSS, and TypeScript.Work Environment
The role offers a flexible work environment with core hours from 9 AM to 3 PM. The candidate will work onsite from Tuesday to Thursday and remotely on Monday and Friday. The work culture is supportive, with opportunities for growth and development through exciting projects and one-on-one learning.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
