Job Title: Sr Software Engineer

Job Description

Our client in Belcamp/APG is looking to hire a Sr Software Engineer to develop, maintain, and enhance complex integrated software and hardware systems in support of scientific research objectives in a bio/chemical defense application. This role requires working knowledge of full stack development with agile methodologies along with software architecture. The successful candidate will be working on new emerging technology, solving problems, and developing solutions for software development, architecture, and new technologies. MUST BE ELIGIBLE FOR A SECRET CLEARANCE THROUGH THE DEPT. OF DEFENSE

ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and enhance complex integrated software and hardware systems.Support scientific research objectives in a bio/chemical defense application.Work on new emerging technology and problem-solving.Develop solutions for software development, architecture, and new technologies.Train and mentor other team members.Participate in daily morning scrum meetings and end-of-day meetings.Essential Skills5+ years of experience with full stack software development.Proficient in Java, JavaScript, SQL, HTML, React, and Agile methodologies.Experience with software architecture.Strong problem-solving skills.B.S. in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.US Citizenship is required.Eligibility for Secret Level clearance (can start without a clearance).Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Angular, Git, Jira, Confluence, and CSS.Work Environment

The role is based in Edgewood, MD, supporting bio/chem defense programs, Integrated Early Warning (IEW), and Cyber Assurance for the AFRL. The work will be done in an office setting with a small team. The schedule is flexible with a hybrid remote option, requiring 4 days on-site and 1 day remote per week. The team culture is stable with good benefits upon conversion to salary.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $77.00/hr.
