**Summary:** This role joins a newly formed team focused on novel collaborations with academic researchers and scientists across cognitive development, novel human computer interfaces, AI, and perceptual science. **Required Skills:** Software Engineer Responsibilities: 1. Design core, desktop application and tools backend software components 2. Code using primarily C/C++, Python, and Javascript 3. Interface with other teams to incorporate their innovations and vice versa 4. Conduct design and code reviews 5. Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources 6. Establish self as an owner of a particular component, feature or system with deep end-to-end understanding 7. Demonstrated experience completing projects at large scope while maintaining a consistently high-level of productivity **Minimum Qualifications:** Minimum Qualifications: 8. Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta. 9. 3+ years of programming experience in a relevant programming language 10. 3+ years relevant experience building large-scale infrastructure applications or similar experience 11. Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Javascript, or Hack 12. Experience designing, analyzing and improving efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources 13. Experience owning a component, feature or system 14. Experience building and shipping high quality work and achieving high reliability 15. Track record of taking direction from lead, driving to development targets and successful cross-functional communications 16. Experience improving quality through thoughtful code reviews, appropriate testing, proper rollout, monitoring, and proactive changes **Preferred Qualifications:** Preferred Qualifications: 17. Exposure to architectural patterns of large scale software applications 18. Experience in programming languages such as C, C++, Java 19.
