Cloud Software Engineer: Secrets Management, Poland

 

As a Secrets Management team within the Splunk Core Platform organization we own platform security components which enable secure management of secrets across the Splunk product portfolio in a manner consistent with internal and external security standards, industry best practices, and rigorous compliance requirements. The teams are fast-paced, high-velocity, and use innovative technologies. Our customers are internal engineering teams within Splunk as well as end customers, and we support use cases that are critical to keeping Splunk’s SaaS and On-Prem offerings secure and functional. We build and operate the fleet of cloud-based highly available Splunk platform security services running in different geographical regions on AWS, Azure and GCP clouds.  

 

What You’ll Do

 

Support the ongoing expansion of our cloud services to new regions and CSPs, including highly regulated environmentsOperate the fleet of our cloud platform security services in all regions worldwideDesign and develop new features, services and automation toolsContribute to optimization, cost-reduction and efficiency oriented initiativesImplement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and our development infrastructureConduct security assessments and implement security standards  Take part in 24/7 on-call support, respond to alerts, anomalies, incidents and ops improvements Provide technical support to the community of our internal customersMentor new junior engineers to help them be successful to achieve more than they thought possibleCollaborate with senior engineering roles on system level architecture to ensure our services are a part of secure, durable and scalable solutions 

Experience Required

 

Hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS or Azure), Devops practices and Software Reliability EngineeringProficiency in containerization technologies and container orchestration with KubernetesSolid programming skills (preferably Go)Good understanding of Unix/Linux (including shell scripting) Experience with automation tools like Terraform for infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipeline managementFamiliarity with networking concepts, cybersecurity fundamentals and security best practicesGrowth mindset, strong desire to learn, try new technologies, and take on new challenges that they may not be experts inAbility to deal with ambiguity, technical challenges which are often not well defined, and requires investigation and proof of concepts to scope out the problem Strong verbal and written English communication skills

 

Nice to haveC++ expertise with solid fundamentals in object oriented programming and experience with large codebasesMulti-cloud experience: Experience with multiple cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) - GCP will be a big plusFamiliarity with Secrets Management concepts, tools and best practices, experience with Hashicorp Vault or cloud-native solutions (AWS Secrets Manager, Azure Key Vault, etc.)Experience with observability, monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk
