Department Summary:
The Advanced Capabilities Department (N162) within the Integrated All-Domain Effects Division (N160) in MITRE’s Air and Space Forces Center focuses on developing and enabling capabilities to counter peer adversaries and enable the US to project power and operate within highly contested environments. N162 is seeking a Software Engineer who wants to deliver innovative solutions to unique national challenges.
Roles & Responsibilities:
+ Collaborate with cross-functional team of engineers, to define and deliver cutting-edge software prototypes.
+ Explore new technologies, frameworks, and methodologies to improve mission success.
+ Push the boundaries of existing systems to create innovative solutions that address complex challenges.
+ Develop systems to explore new concepts, validate ideas, and gather operator feedback.
+ Ensure that software is functional, reliable, and demonstrable for evaluation by sponsors and operators.
Basic Qualifications:
+ Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience; or 3 years and Master’s degree or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
+ Familiarity with software engineering and rapid prototyping.
+ Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
+ Must be a US citizen able to obtain and maintain a US government clearance.
+ This position has an on-site requirement of 5 days a week on-site
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Familiarity with communications equipment, specifically RF communications.
+ Experience working with government agencies, military organizations.
+ Experience with Software Defined Radios
+ Python, JavaScript, C/C++, Java, bash
+ Linux Development, git

Salary compensation range and midpoint:
$127,500 - $159,500 - $191,500 Annual
