YOUR IMPACT

As a member of BuildHub Team you will be responsible for maintaining a CI/CD pipeline. A strong candidate will have either a development background that translated into Operations or an Operations Engineer who has development experience. Knowledge of python, Java/Groovy, or some major language is a requirement. This person should understand thoroughly how code goes from code commit to production. They should have a thorough understating on how to architect highly available infrastructure.

 

What The Role Offers

CI/CD Pipeline Management: Implement and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines. Use tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD to automate the building, testing, and deployment of applications. Ensure that code changes can be tested and deployed quickly and reliably.Infrastructure Automation: Utilize infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible to automate the provisioning and management of infrastructure resources. This includes virtual machines, containers, networking, and other cloud services.Containerization: Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes is crucial. Containerize applications, making them portable and consistent across different environments.Monitoring and Logging: Implement monitoring solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) to track application and infrastructure performance. This ensures early detection of issues and helps maintain system reliability.Security and Compliance: Ensuring the security of the entire software delivery lifecycle is a priority. Work on implementing security best practices and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.Scripting and Automation: Write & maintain scripts and develop automation solutions to simplify repetitive tasks and processes, enhancing efficiency and reducing human error.Documentation: Keeping documentation up to date is essential for maintaining clear processes and knowledge sharing across teams.

What You Need to Succeed

3 - 5 years of professional experience in the Software Development industry2+ years of experience in Build and Release Engineering activitiesSolid understanding of DevOps principles, agile methodologies, and software development lifecycles.Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell, Ruby, Perl).Proficiency with CI/CD tools and version control systems like GitLab/GHE/Subversion etc. Ensure that code changes are tracked, managed, and versioned appropriately.Knowledge of containerization technologies and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).Familiarity with IaC tools for automating infrastructure provisioning.Understanding of networking and security concepts.Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Effective communication and collaboration abilities, fostering a culture of shared responsibility.Cloud platform experience (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is often preferred.Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator) can be advantageous.
