The Red Hat Software Production - Cloud team is looking for a Software Engineer with Python knowledge to join us. In this role, you will join the Red Hat SP - Cloud Workflow team that is responsible for smooth transition through build and distribution platforms of the Red Hat and ISV product pipelines via innovation and automation.
You'll join a globally distributed team with members located for example in Czech Republic, Brazil and the United States. You’ll be given a chance to practice your Python knowledge and learn the best practices. You’ll contribute to the Agile project delivery and consult your work with experts and professionals who you’ll for sure find friendly, approachable and very helpful.
We’re trying to keep up with new cloud technologies, therefore working in our team will give you the opportunity to learn and grow.
What you will do
Work with the latest technologies in a highly cooperative landscape (e.g. containers, OpenShift/Kubernetes, Flask and REST/GraphQL APIs)Participate in DevOps culture and apply Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) principlesDevelop and maintain software to automatically provision, upgrade, monitor, and heal services in the release pipelineBe one of the primary points of contact for incoming issues raised by stakeholders/clients through Jira tickets and alerts captured by the monitoring, investigate and apply solutions to encountered problems and most importantly identify and design solutions that prevent issues from reoccurringIdentify pipeline workflows that could be automated, design and implement automationDesign user scenarios, test cases, write automated tests.Provide code and peer reviews.Document and maintain software functionality.Mentor and guide junior team members.Assist with the operational maintenance of deployed service instances.Perform root cause analysis.What you will bring
Ability to design and develop cloud native applications in Python 3, knowledge of Python frameworks and librariesExperience with Git (GitHub/GitLab) and code reviewsSolid understanding of object oriented programming principles and design patterns, Go language is a big plusKnowledge of Linux operating system, including command line proficiency, file systems, process management and package management, RHEL and Fedora are just plusKnowledge of Linux containers is mandatory, basics of Kubernetes/Openshift is a plusExperience with incident response processes, including root cause analysis, post-mortem analysis, and implementing preventive measures.is a plusFamiliarity with monitoring (Splunk, Catchpoint, SignalFx or similar) is a plusAbout Red Hat
