Job Description

Mission Technologies provides mission-critical engineering and technical service to Information Technology, Federal Civilian, and National Security, Aerospace & Defense and International government and commercial customers at over 100 locations worldwide. Mission Technologies is currently seeking a software engineer that will play a critical role as part of the installation, configuration, verification, and deployment of the Joint After-Action Review (JAAR) system at shore sites and the Data Collection & Debrief (DCD) system aboard ships. This position will be based in Virginia Beach, VA. The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of all personnel within this position. Actual duties and responsibilities may vary depending upon assignments and other factors.

Essential Job Responsibilities

•    Manage technical execution planning through coordination, consolidation and submission of the JAAR and DCD programs.
•    Recognize system deficiencies and provide technical recommendation for the design, development, and systems integration from definition through implementation.
•    Provide software site troubleshooting support as required.
•    Configure manage and track externally delivered software builds.
•    Perform test event setup, configuration, and operation of JAAR / DCD related interfaces.
•    Document the setup, configuration, and operation of JAAR / DCD software.
•    Perform and document system integration testing of JAAR / DCD software.
•    Provide annual updates for the JAAR / DCD software at myriad sites and assist with the analysis of JAAR / DCD data source files as required.
•    Provide database update and maintenance activities.
•    Support test events to verify software both locally and international travel as required.
•    Database maintenance experience including add data, backup and repair of data, importing data from other sources and applying database patches (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc).
•    Provide cyber engineering and accreditation services in support of JAAR / DCD system.
•    Security+ certification (or obtain it within 3 months of hire).
•    Must possess an active or be able to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Security Clearance.
 

Minimum Qualifications

•    2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years’ experience, with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering or Mathematics with field of concentration in computer science.
•    Experience with C# software and virtual software management.
•    Operational knowledge of the JAAR / DCD program is a plus.

Preferred Requirements

•    Experience working with DoD customers, projects, and processes.
•    Demonstrated Experience in one or more of the following Naval System areas:
o    AEGIS
o    SSDS
