Software Engineer I

This position supports the REPH Editorial Operations division. Responsible for creating and maintaining internal software development using programming languages (and a method) to design or automate a given task. Acts as a resource to a wide range of groups throughout the organization. Suggests and aids in the design/implementation of process and tool enhancements along with other development teams. This position will report to the Automation Manager and will work with the Editorial Operations leadership team, the EdOps Digital Services Team and other departments to drive efficiency improvements and automation.

Accountabilities

Liaison with leadership teams to coordinate resourcing issues and development/automation needsAble to work and communicate directly with coworkers, stakeholders, leadership teams with minimal supervisionReview, analyze, and document business processes, test strategy, test plan and ensure that they are aligned with the requirementsConsult with cross-functional project teams to ensure integrity of existing fabrication processes and participate in implementation of new technologiesLead continuous improvement discovery activities to determine potential short-term and long-term efficiency projects, including opportunities for RPA/AIAnalyze existing processes and tools and test, verify, and implement new processes and tools in conjunction with Operations and Development teamsDevelop the Tools/Applications and ensure its deployment across different processes in operationsMonitor Tools/Applications performance and provide mitigations for business continuity whenever issues occur and would impact timeliness of production deliveryIdentify more processes for potential RPA/AI, recommend readiness for deployment in operations, determine next steps after deployment by articulating project phases following the minimum viable product (MVP) principle to make a quick working project or ready business, and lead discussions to keep track of project status following the Agile Methodology

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree holder.Basic knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)Basic knowledge of data manipulation languagesBasic understanding of data modeling principlesKnowledge of data storage subsystemsBasic knowledge of applicable development languages including but not limited to Python, JavaScript, Java/J2EE, JSP, C#, C/C++, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, UNIX, and .NetBasic to intermediate knowledge of Micosoft Power Platform tools: Power Automate, Power Apps, and PowerBIKnowledge of test-driven developmentAbility and desire to learn new processes and technologiesBasic to intermediate oral and written communication skills+3 years of experience across business operations, business process management, business consulting and analysis skills or other large scale business transformation project workIn-depth knowledge of core business analyst tools and techniques; experience in using collaboration tools such as Azure DevOps, Miro and MS Whiteboard a plusExperience with Power BI, Macro, and Advanced Excel and PowerPoint a plus, but not a requirement
