Job DescriptionThe Opportunity:
We are seeking a Software Engineer I - Payables to contribute to the development of Flywire’s payables platform, ensuring seamless, automated, and secure payment processing. This role will focus on building and optimizing payment workflows, integrating financial systems, and supporting compliance with global payment regulations. The ideal candidate will have foundational programming skills, a problem-solving mindset, and an eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, test, and maintain payables processing software that supports Flywire’s global payment operations.Assist in integrating third-party payment providers, banking systems, and financial institutions to enhance payment processing capabilities.Collaborate with product managers, senior engineers, and finance teams to understand payment workflows and implement improvements.Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code, following industry best practices and security standards.Debug and troubleshoot payment processing issues, ensuring smooth and error-free transactions.Support the development of automated financial reporting and reconciliation tools.Stay informed about emerging payment technologies, compliance requirements, and security best practices in fintech.QualificationsWhat We Are Looking For:
We are looking for a junior software engineer with a strong foundation in backend development, APIs, and financial transaction processing.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.0-2 years of experience in software development, preferably in fintech, payments, or financial services.Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or Go.Understanding of payment processing systems, financial transactions, and API integrations.Familiarity with databases (SQL and NoSQL) and experience writing queries for data processing.Basic knowledge of cloud-based architectures (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and CI/CD pipelines.Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively and document solutions clearly.Fluency in English and Spanish is preferred.Additional InformationWhat We Offer:
