Software Engineer II, Chrome OS, Android
Minimum qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. + 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript). + 1 year of experience with data structures or algorithms. + 1 year of experience with Android application development. Preferred qualifications: + Experience coding with C++ or Kotlin. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward. In this role, you will work closely with the team's technical leadership and partner engineering teams to build the identity solution for the next generation Chrome OS. You will build features in C++ and Kotlin in the Chrome, Chrome OS and Android codebases. You will maintain the existing solution; debug customer-reported problems and fix regressions.Chrome OS delivers quality computing at scale to provide universal and unfettered access to information, entertainment, and tools. Our mission is to empower anyone to create and access information freely through fast, secure, simple, and intelligent computing. + Write product or system development code. + Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies. + Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality. + Contribute to the ongoing maintenance and support of existing Chrome OS identity features.
