Software Engineer II
**Are you ready to join a growing team?** CTG is seeking to fill a Software Engineer II opening for our client in Buffalo, NY. **Location:** Buffalo, NY-Local Candidate only please **Duration:** 6 months **W2 only, No C2C** **Overview:** The Software Engineer II will provide design, technical leadership, and support in the development and enhancement of applications. This individual will evaluate client requirements, direct less experienced personnel, and deliver solutions that align with strategic business goals. The role requires strong technical skills, application design experience, and a proactive approach to complex problem solving. **Primary Responsibilities:** + Complete and oversee systems analysis, design, and development of complex applications. + Serve as a key contributor on technical projects and manage development tasks. + Prepare and manage technical components of project plans. + Participate in all stages of systems development, from analysis through testing and implementation. + Prepare, execute, and review test data and detailed test plans; perform debugging as needed. + Analyze interrelationships among programs, interfacing applications, and platforms. + Provide technical consulting and leadership on the implementation of new technologies. + Create and maintain technical and functional documentation. + Evaluate project scope and estimate required resources and time frames. + Maintain the effectiveness and efficiency of supported applications. + Recommend and evaluate new technologies, software, and procedures. + Ensure adherence to development standards and procedures. + Maintain a solid understanding of business processes, operations, and strategic direction. + Support internal risk, regulatory, and audit compliance requirements. + Promote diversity and uphold internal control standards. + Perform other duties or projects as assigned, including due diligence and business studies. **Scope of Responsibilities:** This position reports to the Technology Team Lead and operates with a high degree of independence. The Software Engineer II may lead or manage projects and team activities, engage with senior leadership, and represent the team in technical committees or ad hoc initiatives. This role may provide backup to higher-level managers as needed. **Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:** While not a direct supervisory role, the position may oversee or coordinate the work of junior team members and lead development tasks on various projects. **Education and Experience Required:** + Associate’s degree and at least 5 years of systems analysis/application development experience; or, in lieu of a degree, at least 7 years of combined higher education and work experience, including 5 years in systems analysis/application development. + Proficient in application development tools and platforms. + Strong knowledge of project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite. + Capable of managing multiple complex projects simultaneously. + Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. + Effective verbal and written communication, including experience presenting to technical and business audiences. + Proven experience delivering system solutions and driving project milestones. **Education and Experience Preferred:** + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. + Familiarity with the Bank's application framework. + Subject matter expertise in business applications being supported. + Advanced understanding of integrated and interfacing systems. + Experience leading technical evaluations and strategic initiatives. + Ability to work independently and in team environments. + Action-oriented, proactive, and capable of driving innovation beyond standard business processes.
