Software Engineer II
Microsoft Azure Edge + Platform (E+P) is a globally distributed team of engineers, architects, program managers, product managers, business program managers, business administrators, user experience researchers and designers who are responsible for the platform for Microsoft and for delivering Microsoft’s edge vision. The Cloud Security team within Azure Edge and Platform’s Enterprise and Security organization is responsible for making the operating systems used in Microsoft PCs (Personal Computers), devices and the Azure cloud trustworthy. We produce cutting edge data protection, hardening and cryptography features such as BitLocker, KeyGuard and HVCI (Hypervisor-Protected Code Integrity). These tools equip device owners, manufacturers, and service operators to define how devices are used, even in the presence of hostile software and attackers. Cloud Security safeguards user secrets, giving confidence that even sophisticated modern threats cannot access data outside where and to whom they are intended. **Responsibilities** As a Software Engineer, you will contribute across the Cloud Security team scope. You will ship platform security features and drive scenarios across the Cloud & AI org. **Qualifications** + Required/ Minimum Qualifications: + Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C or C++ OR equivalent experience. + 2 + years of industry experience working with C/C++ 2+ years of experience in designing, developing and shipping components for the lower parts of the OS (operating system) stack, including driver, firmware/embedded development, or low level cryptography applications + Other Requirements: + Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: + Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.Preferred Qualifications: + Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C or C++ OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C or C++ OR equivalent experience. Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
