Title: Software Engineer II

Location: Prague, Czechia

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

As a C++ Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the requirements, design, development, and implementation of software and software interfaces for NCR Voyix’s Fuel Controller product--a highly concurrent embedded system that orchestrates the behaviors of outdoor automated fuel dispensers. You will interact daily with other team members to ensure that a quality product is delivered in a timely manner. You are expected to be able to own the solution to complex software problems/needs from design to delivery.

You will also:

Interact with both onshore and offshore developers and QEGather and assess business requirementsDesign, modify, implement, and document software application changesContribute to the success of a self-organizing Agile development team of 5-10 contributorsTest and support applicationsParticipate in analysis, design, testing, and review processesProvide estimations of work based on requirementsWrite product specifications, troubleshooting guides, and user technical manualsEvaluate third-party products and specificationsPerform other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related area (Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Services, Management Information Services) or equivalent industry experience2+ years of recent C++ experienceModern cross-platform C++ standard (C++ 11 and above) experienceExperience real-time debugging in Linux & Microsoft Windows development environmentsExperience gathering requirements and producing technical designs for software applicationsMust excel in verbal and written communicationsAble to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.Able to troubleshoot complex systems including hardware and software systems

Preferred Qualifications:

Modern C++ library experience (C++11 & above)Node.js, React, Go, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python experienceTest automation experience using Cucumber, Behave, Gherkin Unit Testing Framework like Google Test, cppUnit etc. Experience with vagrant and VirtualBox virtual environmentsExperience with multi-threading, performance optimization, networking, and TCP/IP Socket level communicationsRetail experience, especially in the Convenience Store industry and Point of Sale systems
