Location: Remote Duration: 12 months Overview: The Software Engineer II will provide designs, specify information systems solutions, and offer highly technical direction in the development of new or existing applications. This role involves solving basic to complex problems or enhancements, serving as a principal application designer, and applying analytical and technical skills in the evaluation of client requirements and processes. The Software Engineer II will also oversee day-to-day support activities and special projects while providing direction to less experienced personnel. Primary Responsibilities: Perform complex systems analysis, design, and development. Serve as an individual contributor on complex projects, providing technical solutions. Direct and monitor the work of less experienced resources, coordinating development tasks on projects of varying scope. Manage the technical components of project plans and collaborate with Development, Operations, and Technology teams from analysis through to user acceptance testing. Prepare, execute, and review test data and test plans; debug as required. Analyze complex interrelationships and effects among programs, interfacing applications, and platforms. Lead consulting efforts in identifying and implementing new uses of information technologies to meet strategic business objectives. Develop and review technical and functional specifications, ensuring accurate and complete systems documentation. Prepare and review project assessments, including task lists, estimated time frames, and resource requirements. Recommend new technologies, policies, and processes to enhance organizational effectiveness. Follow development standards and procedures while maintaining an understanding of the business and its functions. Assist with developing expense and capital budgets. Ensure compliance with the company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls. Lead or participate in technical evaluations of vendor software as necessary. Promote diversity within the team and adhere to the company's internal control standards. Scope of Responsibilities: The position works under the supervision of the Technology Team Lead. The Software Engineer II is expected to work independently on high-level systems analysis and technical development tasks. Manage activities of others on small to large projects, serving as a project lead where applicable. Interact with senior management, technology personnel, clients, and vendors to ensure the success of the project. May be required to represent the team on various committees or special projects. Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities: Provides direction and guidance to less experienced team members. May be responsible for leading project teams or initiatives. Education and Experience Required: Minimum of an Associate’s degree and 5 years of systems analysis/application development experience, or 7 years of combined higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 5 years of relevant systems analysis/application development experience. Proficiency in Angular, Microservices, and PostgreSQL. Familiarity with application development software and hardware platforms. Strong verbal and written communication skills with prior experience presenting to target audiences. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills. Experience coordinating between applications teams and business units. Ability to work on multiple complex projects simultaneously. Education and Experience Preferred: Understanding of the Bank's application framework. Subject matter expertise in the supported application/system. Advanced understanding of interfacing/integrated applications. Ability to work autonomously as well as in a collaborative team environment. Action-oriented and proactive, with the ability to multitask and manage complex projects. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
