DTC’s many software engineering teams build applications for the web, mobile, tablets, connected TVs, consoles, and other streaming devices. Every customer starts their wonderful journey into the world of WBD through DTC’s Identity and Growth teams. We ensure customers can seamlessly authenticate and authorize across all WBD brands. We are a fast-growing, global engineering group crucial to WBD’s future.
We are setting up an India Development Center to better support our global streaming services and assist international teams. We are looking for Software Engineers to join the India Identity and Growth teams and enable the global expansion of our services.
Roles & Responsibilities:
You are a key member of a team that builds high-performance, stable, and scalable software services that serve millions of customers globally.You deliver top quality code in a fast-paced environment.You are experienced and capable of playing a leading role to design and develop complex functional changes to software systems, or new ones, involving yourself and other engineers. You make good decisions when to build new and when to extend existing solutions. You champion operational excellence; you are often the best on-call engineer in the team.You provide guidance on design, coding, and operational best practices, and have a track-record of applying these best practices to software that you have worked on. You can propose and create best practices proactively. You make impactful decisions driving how and what software gets built. Your decisions, backed by data, are often right, and you are persuasive in delivering your suggestions and ideas to your team. You understand how individual pieces of software fit into a greater ecosystem and can actively communicate and advocate for choices among multiple stakeholders. You are an effective communicator as exemplified by your technical documentation, and your interactions with stakeholders and adjacent teams. Your success is judged as much on your own productivity as on the positive impact you have on engineers around you. You mentor junior engineers and positively influence the team.What to Bring:
Bachelor’s degree with 2 – 5 years of experience as a software developer. Proficient in Java or other JVM languages.Experience in building and operating global-scale large platform services in non-prod and prod environments.Operational Experience to run services globally; on-call rotation, incident response, playbooks.Ability to collaborate effectively with remote peers across disparate geographies and time zones. Strong CS fundamentals; need technical understanding of Kubernetes-based microservice architectures, caching solutions, messaging services, DB services, API gateways, service mesh, and infrastructure-as-code technologies/processes. Direct experience with at least one cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure, or other). Familiar in establishing and improving data-driven infrastructure and service KPIs such as performance, scale, availability, reliability, security.A good understanding of security best practices and a high bar for protecting customer data. Ability to implement alerting, metrics, and logging using tools like Prometheus, CloudWatch, Kibana, PagerDuty.Some experience with persistence and caching solutions such as PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, Caffeine.Familiar with asynchronous, non-blocking, functional/reactive styles of programming. Hands-on experience with frameworks such as Spring WebFlux, Vert.x, Node.js.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with emphasis on technical documentation.What We Offer:
