Software Engineer II
**Are you ready to join a growing team?** **CTG is seeking to fill a Software Engineer II opening for our client in New York.** **Location:** Remote **Duration:** 12 months **Overview** Provides design expertise, specifies information systems solutions, and delivers highly technical direction in the development of new or existing applications to solve basic to complex problems or enhancements. Acts as a lead application designer for major modifications, leveraging technical skills and tools to evaluate client requirements and processes. Offers solutions that are technologically sound and aligned with strategic goals. May also participate in day-to-day support activities and special projects. Frequently provides guidance to less experienced team members. **Primary Responsibilities** + Execute and oversee basic to complex systems analysis, design, and development + Serve as a key contributor on complex development projects + Direct and support less experienced developers; coordinate development tasks + Prepare, manage, and track technical project components + Collaborate across Development, Operations, and Technology teams from analysis to user testing + Create and review test data; execute detailed test plans and debugging tasks + Evaluate complex interdependencies between applications and platforms + Provide advanced consulting to identify new technology applications aligned with business goals + Develop clear technical and functional specifications; maintain thorough documentation + Prepare task assessments, time estimates, and resource efforts for projects + Recommend technologies, policies, and process improvements + Promote and follow development standards and best practices + Maintain knowledge of the supported business and strategic direction + May contribute to budget development and project cost analysis + Ensure compliance with internal controls, risk, and regulatory standards + Participate in special projects and committees as needed **Scope of Responsibilities** This role operates under the supervision of the Technology Team Lead and is capable of managing all high-level systems analysis and development tasks independently. The Software Engineer II may also oversee project activities and other personnel on projects of varying scope. Regular interactions with senior management, technology staff, clients, and vendors are expected. May act as a backup to senior technical management and serve on cross-functional initiatives. **Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities** + Provides guidance and task oversight to junior developers and team members + May lead small to large-scale development projects and technical initiatives + Assesses performance and ensures delivery within project timelines **Education and Experience Required** + Associate degree and a minimum of 5 years of systems analysis/application development experience— or —7 years combined education and work experience, including a minimum of 5 years systems analysis/application development experience + Proficiency with: + Java + Spring Boot + SQL Server + Strong understanding of software and hardware development platforms + Effective at problem-solving, multitasking, and time management + Experience coordinating across business and technical teams + Capable of working on multiple, complex projects + Strong communication and documentation skills **Education and Experience Preferred** + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field + Knowledge of the Bank's application framework + Experience with integrated/interfacing systems + Subject matter expertise in supported applications or business processes + Self-starter with the ability to work independently and within teams + Strong ability to lead initiatives outside typical BAU work Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required. The expected base salary for this position ranges from $110,000 to $140,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
