Join Cloudera’s Internal Cloud Platform team, where we build, manage, and operate an internal container and VM cloud using advanced cloud-native technologies, including a multi-tenant Kubernetes environment for in-house applications. We also develop a public cloud cost management tool to optimize our cloud expenses. As a Software Engineer II - DevOps you will :
Manage expansive, multi-tenant Kubernetes environments
Build and manage a hybrid compute cloud environment using open-source CNCF technologies like Kubernetes, KubeVirt, and Crossplane
Contribute to the development and optimization of our cloud cost management tool
Improve and automate infrastructure provisioning and management using configuration management tools
Own the services you build working with cross functional teams
Identify and implement industry-standard practices to enhance service resiliency
Analyze incidents to determine root causes and produce high-quality Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports
Ensure maximum uptime and quality of service for internal customers through diligent operational practices
Participate in the team’s on-call rotation to support systems
We're excited about you if you have :
B.S./B.Tech/BE or 3+ years experience in Computer Science or a related field
Basic understanding of Linux operating systems and TCP/IP fundamentals
Intermediate proficiency in Python (Go is a plus) and familiarity with scripting languages like Bash, Perl, or others
Knowledge of modern container networking and Kubernetes architecture
Experience operating services such as web servers, load balancers, relational and non-relational databases, messaging systems, and storage solutions
Familiarity with version control systems (Git, subversion), configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, SaltStack) and production-quality observability stacks
Experience with public cloud service providers
Understanding of modern CI/CD methodologies
Excellent creative problem-solving and debugging skills
Detail-oriented with strong communication and documentation abilities
Interest and motivation to explore and learn new technologies
Passionate about open-source technologies and contributing to open-source projects
