Job summary

As a Site Reliability Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Corporate Technology's Data Platform team, you will support and optimize cutting-edge data platforms using SRE principles. You will collaborate closely with development teams to promote automation, reliability, and operational excellence across diverse technologies.

Job responsibilities

Monitor and troubleshoot data jobs across AWS and on-premises platformsTroubleshoot issues arising from data loads and system interactionsEngage with upstream and downstream data systems to resolve issuesCollaborate with development teams throughout the application lifecycleFacilitate blameless post-mortems and ensure permanent incident closureBuild and develop automation tools to reduce manual operational workCommunicate effectively across multiple teams to resolve production issues

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experienceExperience in development and production support on AWS and on-premises platformsDemonstrated ability to work independently with strong ownership, collaboration, and communication skillsExcellent debugging and troubleshooting skillsHands-on AWS experience or cloud certificationExperience deploying and supporting microservices and cloud-based applicationsProficiency with CI/CD toolkits such as GIT, Subversion, Jenkins, or Sonar

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Intermediate understanding of at least one technology stack or programming language (Java, Python, or Scala)Experience maintaining cloud-based infrastructureFamiliarity with site reliability engineering concepts and practicesStrong scripting skills in Python and ability to work on data analysis using SQL
