As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Banking (CIB) Technology - Markets Technology team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture Collaborate with front office, operations, and other technology teams to gather requirements and ensure alignment on product specifications. Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and documentation to track progress and ensure timely delivery. Conduct thorough testing and validation of new products to ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements. Identify and resolve any technical or operational issues that may arise during the onboarding process. Provide ongoing support and training to stakeholders on new product features and functionalities. Continuously evaluate and improve onboarding processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability Proficient in coding using the following technology stack: Python, JavaScript, Java, Junit, Maven, Hibernate, Spring Boot, Spring JPA, Spring Batch Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Strong understanding of equity derivatives products, the structure and the risk associated. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life CyclePreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Familiarity with modern front-end technologies Familiarity with one or more DBMS like Oracle, MySQL, or others Proficiency in relevant programming languages and software tools (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java)
