**Job Responsibilities:**
Implementation and Support:
+ Implement and support the Student Information System, work with campus partners to define need, develop solutions, on-going support, maintenance and integrations within and with the Student Information System and other enterprise technologies.Innovation and Problem-Solving:
+ Work with limited oversight, developing innovative approaches, methods, or techniques to solve complex problems.
Expert Analysis:
+ Apply expert analysis techniques within your area of specialization to make informed decisions.
+ Address unclear and increasingly difficult problems that require a broad understanding of multiple issues, areas, departments, or specialties. Issues are strategic in nature and involve significant evaluation and interpretation. Involves learning and understanding of our campus partners processes.
Application Management:
+ Understand the core functionality of assigned applications and partner with key business and campus contacts in leveraging this technology to meet university needs.
Project Management:
+ Manage and/or lead concurrent projects of varying sizes and processes.
+ Confer with managers and stakeholders regularly.
Guidance and Training:
+ Provide guidance, coaching, and training to other employees.
+ Continually develop your technical expertise in technology, product, program, or process area.
Information Security:
+ Follow information security best practices, university policies, and standards to protect the university’s information assets along with adhering to architectural and operational standards.
System Maintenance:
+ Perform system maintenance, break/fix tasks, enhancements, integrations, new development, and support of Oracle updates in the Student Information System and other applications as prioritized.
Collaboration and Communication:
+ The scope and impact of your work will extend to other units, teams, specializations, and departments across campus.
+ Ability to build relationships, communicate effectively, collaborate, be a proactive, document processes, and lead projects.

**Required Qualifications:**
+ 5 years of experience as a PeopleSoft development engineer in all aspects of the software development lifecycle with a variety of technical projects
+ 3 years of experience with PeopleSoft API framework
+ 3 years of experience with ETL tools such as Informatica and Azure IPaaS
+ 3-4 years of experience working with external vendors, primarily related to the implementation, support and maintenance of business applications
+ 5 years of experience programming in one or more; PL/SQL, relational databases such as Oracle 19c, Unix or Linux Operating Systems
+ 4 years of experience utilizing multiple development methodologies
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Experience in a higher education environment
+ Development and/or integration experience with Slate CRM
+ Experience developing event driven integration solutions
+ Experience with 3rd party scheduling tools
+ Strong scripting and automation skills
+ Ability to self-manage multiple projects simultaneously

**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a senior-level, customer-focused Software Engineer III to join RIT’s Enterprise Student Applications team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong student-focused mindset to the innovative solutions we deliver for RIT. This position requires strong technical and interpersonal skills and involves collaboration with business and IT stakeholders across RIT.
As a Software Engineer III, your primary responsibilities will include the development and support of our main SIS Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, as well as integrations with approved ETL tools, including integration with RIT’s Slate CRM and ProSAM Financial Aid. This position requires a strong focus on maintaining a sustainable platform for enterprise student systems and developing comprehensive student-centered solutions that require a broad understanding of business processes and systems across the university. This position will also require the flexibility to learn new products in our ecosystem that will grow the team’s ability to develop innovative solutions that improve the experience of students, faculty, and staff at RIT.
