As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respectRequired qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience Formal training or certification in software engineering and 3+ years of applied experience. Experience in developing distributed, mission-critical trading or transactional analytics systems. Proficiency in Core Java, Spring Boot, and J2SE. Experience with Big Data technologies like Hadoop and Spark. Cloud computing experience with AWS or Azure. Database experience with RDBMS (e.g., Oracle) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB). Development of SOA services, including REST and XML/RPC. Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and multi-threading. Experience with Agile development and familiarity with TDD/ADD and automation tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure. Understanding of CI/CD, application resiliency, and security practices.Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Developed market surveillance systems to monitor trading activities, ensuring compliance and detecting suspicious activities. Built and enhanced front-office trading platforms for equities, FX, commodities, and derivatives with a focus on low latency and real-time data processing. Created risk management solutions to assess and manage market, credit, and operational risks using advanced analytics. Designed big data solutions for processing and analyzing large volumes of financial data to support decision-making and strategy development.
