As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the COMMERCIAL & INVESTMENT BANKING team,  you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

 

Job responsibilities

 

Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsDesign, develop, and maintain PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and scripts.Optimize and tune SQL queries and PL/SQL code for performance and scalability.Perform database design, data modeling, and normalization to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.Collaborate with application developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions.Debug and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code developmentProactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architectureContributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologiesAdds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

 

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

 

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience3+ years of experience in Oracle PL/SQL programming (packages, procedures, functions, triggers, etc.).Experience with tools like Oracle SQL Developer, Toad, or PL/SQL Developer and Oracle Database (11g, 12c, 19c, or later).Familiarity with database design, data modeling and normalization techniques.Strong knowledge of SQL query optimization, Indexing, Partitioning and performance tuning.Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle & understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityHands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityProficient in coding in one or more languages, preferably java or pythonExperience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languagesHands-on knowledge working with GIT, Liquibase deployment and Jules CI/CD tools.Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
