As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsCreates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systemsDevelop and maintain high-quality user interfaces for web applications using JavaScript and modern JavaScript frameworks, with a preference for React/Angular.Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate design concepts into interactive and responsive user interfaces.Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to best practices and coding standards.Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers to foster a culture of continuous improvement.Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our applications remain at the forefront of innovation.Troubleshoot and resolve front-end issues and bugs in a timely manner.Work closely with backend developers to integrate APIs and ensure seamless data flow between the front-end and back-end systems.Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experienceProven experience as a UI Developer, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.Proficiency in JavaScript and experience with at least one modern JavaScript framework, React or Angular.Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles.Experience with version control systems, such as Git.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Experience with state management libraries such as Redux or Context API.Familiarity with front-end build tools and package managers, such as Webpack, Babel, and npm/yarn.Knowledge of testing frameworks and tools, such as Jest or Enzyme.Experience with performance optimization techniques and tools.
