Job: 34546-DCOL Location: US-MA-Natick Department: Quality Engineering

Working under the direction of the Manager or Senior Team Lead, will be responsible for developing and executing components of sophisticated software tests to identify software problems and their causes for small self-contained projects; writing automated test suites for unit, function, and system tests and conducting hands-on testing for MathWorks’ Process Advisor support package; documenting and analyzing test results; participating in product feature development from the early design stages and assisting in quality assurance testing for final product release of moderately-complex software; participating in component design reviews; reporting bugs and verifying fixes; and evaluating product performance.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and no experience.

OR

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Software Engineer in Test (or related occupation) architecting and implementing test harnesses, infrastructure and automation. 

 

Special Requirements:

Demonstrated expertise designing and developing JavaScript and Go based test plans and test procedures, and building harness functionality and improving performance; executing and managing system integration and automated test cases using a continuous integration system, and performing version control using Perforce or GitHub. Demonstrated expertise designing and implementing test automation and infrastructure using JUnit and GitHub; and performing object-oriented programming to develop test tools and automated test cases. Demonstrated expertise writing test and build algorithms in Java, JavaScript, and Go Language to support building and testing of harness and test infrastructures; and using Maven packaging tools to build an automated test suite for applications. Demonstrated expertise performing quality engineering according to Agile and Test-Driven or Behavior-Driven Development methodologies; and maintaining and using bug tracking system software -- JIRA and Gecko.
