And that's where you come in: We’re hiring Software Engineer Interns, who are passionate about technology and education, building new features into our existing products, such as the Canvas Learning Management System. Product and Engineering aren't separated by arbitrary ownership boundaries. We all collaborate together, even when we're only connected via Slack and Zoom (this is a remote-first position, however you are welcome to come in the office any day, especially on the Wednesday company lunch) We highly value innovation, so much so that we have quarterly Hackweeks: a week each quarter to work on relevant pet projects and features. **Please note, that we can only consider candidates with an active student status at a Hungarian higher education school that is valid at least for 1 more year. The contract is via a school cooperatives company.** **What we do:** + We are Full-stack Engineers with experience in building single-page web apps with modern web technology. + Our team develops and maintains Catalog, a storefront for Canvas LMS, where students can enroll and pay for different courses. + We are a team with a deep commitment to quality and to using the right tech for each problem we solve. + We have high ownership, we are also testers of our product. + We have a devops mindset, supporting our code and its pipeline and our production environments end-to-end. + We use React (TypeScript, JavaScript), Java, Spring Boot and Ruby on Rails. **Whom we are looking for:** + You should be an active student for at least 6 months and available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week. + Interest in Frontend Development. Experience is a plus. + Passionate about learning and Software Engineering as a career. + Practical knowledge of at least one modern programming language, JavaScript or Typescript preferred. + Interest in solving problems that require investigations. + Ability and desire to work in an inclusive and team-oriented environment. + Is excited about testing code to ensure that the customer can use a best-in-class product. + Comfortable communicating over text and video conferences, not afraid to ask questions **Nice to have:** + Practical knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript. + Knowledge of a modern frontend framework (React, Angular, Vue,..). + Experience or projects outside of class.
