As a Software Engineer – Java, you will join a dynamic team responsible for developing and maintaining software solutions across various digital platforms. You will assist with Information Management and business process automation using Documentum and related applications like Brava, Captiva, and BTM. You should be comfortable working in an Agile environment with evolving software languages and frameworks. Proficiency in cybersecurity, integration, and DevOps best practices is essential. In this role, you will consistently deliver innovative solutions, guiding them through design, planning, development, deployment, and support to streamline business processes and enhance business value.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

Write custom Java codes utilizing Documentum SDK – DFC

Write performant Documentum Query Language queries to manipulate Documentum objects including the use of Documentum API

Leverage the use automated tools in updating artifacts and performing version upgrades for the whole Documentum technology stack

Modify docker images and configuration files as part of automated single build

UI/UX configuration of D2 clients

Work on tickets, troubleshoot issues, and perform administrative tasks related to Documentum technology stack

Develop software solutions leveraging established Chevron’s standards and best practices

Participate in all phases of software development lifecycle

Stay up to date with the latest software engineering tools and practices, including continuous integration, unit testing, static and dynamic profiling, code coverage, code analysis, and automated testing.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related technical field

Experience in Java development including the use of Maven as a build tool

Experience working in a CI/CD environment including the use of version control, ansible, and pipelines.

Working knowledge when it comes to containerization such as docker, and Kubernetes.

Exposure to different Content Management Systems (CMS) such as Documentum, and SharePoint

Experience in executing system integrations, including API consumption.

Expertise in application design, architecture, and security, with experience in using tools and techniques to transform business requirements and logical models into technical application designs.

Experience in application and system development, encompassing the entire lifecycle from design and implementation to testing, deployment, and maintenance.

Proficient in applying formal agile methodologies, disciplines, practices, and techniques to deliver new and enhanced applications.

Preferred Skills:

Strong coding skills (Java)

CI/CD including use of git repository, ansible, and pipelines

Container orchestration tool such as Kubernetes

Familiarity with cloud providers such as Azure, AWS, or GCP

Skilled in troubleshooting

Nice to have:

Documentum knowledge

API development

GenAI knowledge
