Wolters Kluwer - DXG is looking for an accomplished Architect with design driven technical skills coupled with hands-on coding experience. This role will be reporting to the Development Manager and will be working closely with both internal & external integration teams.
The LCC platform - short for Lippincott Clinical Context forms a key part of the Medical Education/Medical Practice division of the Health solutions offering from WK - delivering a an interactive experience for health professionals and students. You will be joining a team of highly skilled engineers that helped shaped this platform to an enterprise scale application.
This role entails a deep knowledge, understanding and application of design and architecture principles, hands-on development skills, awareness and application of the latest in secure coding practices, performance optimizing and be able to demonstrate an in depth understanding of the SDLC engineering and release cycles in their day to day work. The candidate will lead and mentor developers who are part of a high performing scrum team while helping shape and define industry best practice development, process and coding standards.
Job DescriptionResponsibilities:
Interpret and understand contextual requirementsCreative thinker of out of the box solutions for day to day issuesDesign, debug implementations of complex software solutions using NodeJSTranslate requirements to solution designAnalyze, plan and estimate simple to complex development tasksTake ownership for a business feature from its technical design, through development and all the way through to releasePerform code review and refactoring with other developersNavigate through the SDLC (including but not limited to) - Coding, Unit testing, Integration testingWorking closely with QA partners, Coverage/assistance during UAT, Production support/debugging issues Plan, prioritize, and effectively complete tasks in order to meet critical project deadlines.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. 3 or more years of relevant development experience. 3 or more years of industry experience developing web-based applications using NodeJS; NestJS preferred.Must have demonstrated use of architecture design patterns in the last 2 projects.Must have an understanding of SDLC and its various stages. Must have knowledge of agile development practices and associated toolsMust have strong analytical thinking, writing, problem solving and excellent communication skills.Must have hands-on experience with container technologies such as Docker. Must have strong experience in cloud native application development (AWS).Ability to properly document technical specifications, design artifacts and organize code. Ability to interpret and identify patterns from APM tools and reporting dashboardsExperience working with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery and DevOps. Experience and understanding of integration/communication between multiple systems/applications. Experience and understanding of search technologies and caching strategiesExperience and understanding of Git Source control, and Gitflow branching methodology with emphasis on working with strategies that relate to the master/develop/feature/release branchesExperience working with SPAs such as AngularExperience working with JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket is preferredWorking knowledge of JSON, XML, Schema and database modelsWorking knowledge of building and consuming third-party APIs and familiarity with tools such as PostmanApplicants may be required to appear onsite at a Wolters Kluwer office as part of the recruitment process.
