Your Role

 

As a part of the Risk and Identity Solutions (RaIS) team, you will be responsible for developing critical risk and fraud prevention applications and services. Your work will involve:

Idea Generation & Architecture: Contribute to the brainstorming, design, and architecture of new solutions.Development & Testing: Develop and test applications using bleeding-edge AI tools like ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, and other homegrown solutions.Innovation & Impact: Design new software solutions or refactor existing ones to enhance performance and maintainability, all while making a significant impact on our products and services.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Consultant Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in architecture, platform performance improvement, and data analytics for decision-making, with a strong background in databases. This role requires a proactive individual who can lead and collaborate across teams to design, develop, and optimize robust and scalable solutions

 

Key Responsibilities

Architecture and Design

Lead the design and development of system architectures for various product components, ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements.Translate functional and non-functional requirements into comprehensive system designs, explaining how components interact across teams.Conduct design reviews and guide junior team members, ensuring adherence to non-functional requirements (NFRs) and architectural standards.Identify and mitigate risks in solutions, communicating potential impacts to senior engineers and stakeholders.

Platform Performance Improvement

Leverage data analysis and statistical techniques to identify patterns, trends, and defects impacting platform performance.Optimize applications and solutions by implementing performance enhancements based on insights from data and telemetry analyses.Pilot new technology capabilities and features to enhance user experience and system efficiency.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement automation that increases the effectiveness and efficiency of systems and tools.

Data and Analytics for Decision Making

Utilize advanced knowledge of data analysis to review and interpret complex issues affecting multiple components, proposing and implementing solutions.Define critical metrics and measures to assess the feasibility and performance of delivery across multiple features and capabilities.Develop and enhance software developer tools to support the creation, debugging, and maintenance of code, ensuring robust data-driven decision-making processes.

Database Management

Design and implement scalable database solutions that support product requirements and performance objectives.Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and refine database requirements, ensuring integration with other solutions across the technical ecosystem.Maintain and optimize databases to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance.Provide technical expertise and oversight for database-related issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.

Required Work Experience and Proficiencies:

Experience with cloud platforms and services.Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards.Familiarity with automation and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.Minimum four (4) years of experience in a leadership role, whether with or without direct reports, including mentoring other developers and spearheading intra-team and cross-team projects.At least three (3) years of hands-on experience with container-based technologies.Exceptional Java programming skills, with substantial experience in Java microservices frameworks such as Spring or Quarkus.Profound knowledge of SQL, No-SQL databases, and data streaming/queuing technologies like AMQ and Kafka.Proficient in clean coding practices, architectural design, and software design principles.Extensive experience in migrating and modernizing software stacks.Solid understanding of secure coding practices and expertise in mitigating security vulnerabilities.Capable of establishing and maintaining robust development conventions and best practices for handling cross-cutting concerns.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications
9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
•Master's in Math, Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field + 6 years of experience
•Bachelor's in Math, Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field + 8 years of experience
•11 years of relevant experience without a degree
•Strong database management and optimization background.
•Expert in data analysis and statistical methods for problem-solving.
•Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with leadership and mentoring abilities.
•Proficiency in relevant programming languages and tools.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 127,300.00 to 184,700.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
