Who we are looking for
The Bank Loans Application Software Engineering & Development, AVP will be a hands-on developer, responsible for architecting and designing ETL solutions on SQL Server and various cloud native technologies, while interfacing with developers from suite of Bank Loans applications teams. State Street Bank Loans platform is undergoing long term growth as customers choose to invest in alternative classes of investments. The Software Engineering & Development, AVP will continue to be a part of an established technology team to help in the onboarding of clients, integrate with other State Street systems and implementing various Global Delivery Simplification projects. This position will facilitate clients in getting one view of State Street across all asset classes.
This role will have to be performed as per the location policy set by State Street.
What you will be responsible for
As Software Engineering & Development, AVP you will
Architecting and designing ETL solutions, including data models, data pipelines, and data warehousing structures to efficiently integrate data from diverse sourcesWriting complex data transformation logic to clean, validate, aggregate, and manipulate data according to business rulesMonitoring and optimizing ETL processes to improve performance, and scalability.Proactively monitoring database performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing tuning strategies to maintain optimal data access speedsMentoring junior ETL developers, providing technical guidance, and reviewing code to maintain quality standards.Identifying and resolving complex database issues, including data corruption, performance degradation, and application-related database errors.Integrating cloud-based data sources and utilizing cloud-based ETL services (e.g.,Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, Databricks)Managing Database objects across all Bank Loans suite of applicationsOversight and execution of large technology projects involving Cloud MigrationSupport production systems to ensure business continuity and continuous improvement of applications supportedAdvocate and implement best practices and improved team processesProvide expert level troubleshooting on large, mission critical project implementations.Work in a dynamic, fast-paced, Agile team environmentWhat we value

Expert knowledge of SQL query writing and optimization techniques to extract and manipulate data from relational databases.Understanding of data warehouse design principles, dimensional modeling, and data lake conceptsAbility to troubleshoot complex data integration issues and identify root causesStrong critical thinking, requirements gathering, problem solving, and decision making skillsDemonstrated communication skills, including the ability to communicate at the right level with all parties involved—developers, business project teams, and end users—who may be based in different locations and time-zonesAbility to work in a team environment with emphasis on collaboration with both IT and other internal service teams.Education & Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related technical field;10+ years of experience of Oracle PL/SQL, SQL Server, Unix & Shell Scription, ETL, Datawarehousing, Snowflake and working with interfacing systemsBank Loans Domain experienceAdditional requirements

Salary Range:
$100,000 - $160,000 AnnualThe range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
