Where hard stuff is done right!! This is an opportunity to join a fast-paced software development project to support our rapidly expanding portfolio of autonomous vessels. As HII Uncrewed Systems continues to push the boundaries of multi-domain autonomy, one of our primary focuses is the architecture of these underwater and surface vehicles. The software engineering intern will apply knowledge of modular software architecture, model-based software development, software test with simulation, and HII’s uncrewed underwater vehicles to develop and execute vehicle software. What you will be doing... Contribute to the development of tools used for a model-based software development platform for UUV/USV using Papyrus. Leverage knowledge and experience with UML, code development in C++ and Java, and software test to complete tasks and integrate into code development workflow. At times, support the development of advanced software including sensor logic and control algorithms. The duties described herein cover major duties as required. However, this does not exclude the requirement of performing related duties as directed with supervision. What we are looking for... + High School Diploma or equivalent + Must be working towards a Bachelor's degree with more than 60% of the required credits completed. + Actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Physics, or related field. + Demonstrated Java development experience. + Demonstrated C++ development experience. + Experience using Git + Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and exercise new tools + Ability to write technical documentation + Ability to work in a collaborative team environment + Ability to work on-site in Pocasset, MA #LI-MH1 Bonus Points for.... + Experience with ROS2 development + Experience with Papyrus and model based software development Physical Requirements Job performance will normally require only minor lifting and carrying of boxes of records or equipment.
