The mission of the Responsive Operational Planning department is to apply our expertise to deliver resilient combat capabilities to provide commanders and planners with the agility to make timely and effective decisions. Additionally, we advise on Air Force and DoD enterprise strategies; our crosscutter focus is Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2).

As a member of our software development team, you will help solve problems critical to our national security in the areas of Command & Control (C2), Mission Planning, Space Warfare, and Force Protection.

Job Responsibilities:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy software applications and systems.Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance.Utilize your expertise in Python, Java, C#, and other relevant programming languages to develop efficient and scalable software solutions.Ensure software quality through code reviews, testing, and debugging.Stay up-to-date with the latest software engineering trends and technologies, and apply them to enhance product performance and functionality.

Basic Qualifications:

Must be a student enrolled full-time in an accredited degree-seeking program in computer science, software engineering, mathematics, or a related degree and continue to be enrolled full-time the semester following the internship.Sustained excellence in academic performance.Fluent in one or more high-level languages (e.g., Java, C#/.NET, Python, JavaScript, C++).Experience with modern software methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Kanban).Working knowledge of Source Control systems (e.g., Git).A desire to continually learn and master new technologies - Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience having applied Software Engineering to an internship or research/lab position.Experience with cloud (e.g., Amazon Web Services) and/or RESTful architectures.Experience with DevOps tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Maven, Jenkins).Experience with Virtual Machines and Containers (e.g., Docker, K8s).Experience with AI/ LLM technologiesDemonstrated interest in serving the public.Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
