Role Summary Internship Term: Rivian internships are experiences optimized for student candidates. To be eligible, you must be an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited program during the internship term with an expected graduation date between December 2025 and December 2027. As part of the Autonomy Systems team, you will be fundamental in the successful development and deployment of Rivian’s suite of ADAS/Autonomy features. You will be part of the Palo Alto based System Integration or System Definition team which works cross functionally with Rivian SW development teams based locally and throughout Rivian locations around the country. This role is expected to be onsite, with occasional travel required to meet development and testing needs. Responsibilities Develop and execute vehicle integration plans related to ADAS & Self-Driving related sub-system integration while keeping track of overall program milestones and delivery objectives. Support efforts related to integration including overall vehicle build, commissioning/bring-up of various sensor & actuator systems, and developmental testing on prototype and production vehicle platforms. Identify, document and highlight cross-functional gaps and dependencies - proactively work towards creative solutions to resolve integration issues and ensure vehicle functionality. Deep-dive into vehicle log data and source code if required to root-cause system-level issues and facilitate rapid issue resolution in collaboration with domain experts. Support systems engineering activities including interface definition, development and functional testing in coordination with various vehicle-level systems. Develop and execute test plans and automation for functional verification of autonomy SW on various test vehicle platforms - prior to hand-off to test & validation teams. Perform analysis of vehicle data to develop insightful KPIs to verify the performance, requirements, and safety of autonomy features. Qualifications Must be currently pursuing a bachelors, masters, or PhD degree at an accredited university Actively pursuing a degree or one closely related in computer science, machine learning, computer vision, robotics, artificial intelligence, aerospace engineering, or other related technical field. Experience coding in one or more of C / C++, Python or similar and applied research in the autonomy / ADAS space. Students with an emphasis on autonomy, autonomous driving, SLAM, robotics or neural networks preferred. Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and execute on actions and tasks as requested by your team. Ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment. Capable of working as a member of a team across several cross functional disciplines, including with external stakeholders. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. #LI-[SAI7] Pay Disclosure Salary Range/Hourly Rate for Internships: The range of pay for internships is 25.00-51.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on location, and other factors permitted by law. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
