The Mechanical Development cluster (MDEV) is designing, building and testing mechanical systems and sub-systems which are fitted into the end products. It has an overall responsibility for the Mechanical Layout during the whole V-cycle, ensuring that the total system can be build, transported, installed and serviced in a safe and efficient way.
To achieve more refined and efficient workflows, we need a lot of in-house automation code development for Simulation engineers. These types of tools will enable us reduce engineering cycle time and become more efficient on finding the most optimum designs earlier.
Your assignment will be the development and improvement of ASML in-house toolkits within professional physics simulation software (FEA software, prior knowledge not required). API of the software is used to make the addons.
Major work for this specific internship might include creation of a new tool that is standalone but interacts with the simulation software. This tool is a Model Manager that allows to search models by criteria, retrieve their files and compare the model metadata in order to find differences between them (e.g. how did model X changes between revision 1 to revision 7).
Tasks involve:
Code improvement - review of the code, proposal and implementation of architectural improvements;
Adding new features/tools in the in-house toolkits, documentation and optionally workshops for users;
Work in a team with other developers using Git;
Planning work on dashboard;
The FEA software for which the tools are made is one or more of the following: ANSYS , NX SC3D, VCollab.
This is a bachelor/master apprentice internship (to gain work experience) for minimum 5 months. The start date of this internship is asap.
Your ProfileTo be the perfect match for the internship, you:
Are a student in Software Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with affinity on Software Development ;
Have experience with programming patterns and Python;
Have good communication skills;
Other requirements you need to meet:
You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
You need to be located in the Netherlands to be perform your internship. In case you ‘re currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate.
If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
