Software Engineering Lead

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Serve as the initial point of escalation for software development issues within specific area of responsibility. Interface with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements. Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity. Complete complex bug fixes. Work closely with other development team members to understand moderately complex product requirements and translate them into software designs. Successfully implement development processes, coding best practices, and code reviews. Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders. Resolve complex technical issues as necessary. Mentor and/or train entry-level software engineers as directed by department management, ensuring they are knowledgeable in critical aspects of their roles. Keep abreast of new technology developments. Design and work with complex data models. Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems. Ensure all staff is provided with training and resources needed to perform their jobs to the most outstanding degree possible. Ensure all staff is provided with frequent feedback and coaching in order to meet and exceed individual and team performance goals consistently. Manage and encourage new ideas from staff to foster improvements through innovations. Empower the staff to be accountable and responsible for their own actions and decisions. Perform other duties as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field required.7 years of experience in job offered or related occupations required.Also required is: 7 years of experience in: Design, architecture, and development of software applications; Developing web based interfaces using .Net MVC 4.0, ASP.Net, ADO.Net and Angular framework and responsive UI using jQuery, JavaScript, Bootstrap, HTML, CSS and Async; Developing RESTful APIs using WCF, Web API, .NET framework and performance and Load Testing of developed components and RESTful APIs to make sure they sustain the production load; Database design of the system, writing SQL scripts, Stored procedures, Triggers, DDL and DML statements; Working with MongoDB, Elastic Search, Redis, and Aurora MySql; Deployment of the applications on AWS cloud using fully automated Jenkins builds, Continuous Integration/ Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) of software packages with Terraform. Dockerize applications and deploy using Kubernetes; Strong Object-Oriented Design/Development and architectural skills; and Communicating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, integrated testing and following agile methodology and best practices.Employee reports to LNRS Data Services, Inc. office in Berkeley Heights, NJ, but may telecommute from any location within the U.S.Experience can be concurrent.
