Software Engineering Lead

to join our team at our location in Oslo

(Y)our Mission:

Our solutions contribute to flexible and customer-friendly payment alternatives. We allow consumers to choose when and how to pay, guaranteeing merchants a steady and predictable cashflow. Our products make us proud, but not content, and we have high ambitions for our existing and upcoming products. We are strongly committed to building the future of FinTech — human-centric and sustainable, with investments to back it up.  You will be part of a new and quickly growing product & tech organization, having the opportunity to shape our new teams and build the next revolutionary products.

Your key responsibilities:

As a Software Engineering Lead, your daily tasks will not be related to coding and technical tasks, instead you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of one of our engineering teams in Oslo composed of both software engineers and QAs.
Your primary focus will be on leading, supporting and developing your team members, fostering an environment where they can thrive and perform at their best. While you will have a great understanding of the technical landscape, your role is centered around people leadership, team development, and creating a high-performing and engaged engineering culture.

You will:

Lead, inspire, and motivate a diverse team of IT professionals and promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Own the recruitment and onboarding of new IT talents within their area of responsibility / their team. Support relevant Stakeholders (e.g., the Product Owner or Manager) in maintaining consistency, performance, transparency, resiliency, and other team setup-related matters. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to foster the engineering/excellence culture and collaboration within and across teams. Provide guidance and career development support, helping team members grow through coaching and guidance. Facilitate discussions and conflict resolution, ensuring a positive and productive team dynamic.

What you should bring to the team:

Experience in people leadership, with a strong track record of managing and developing diverse teams, ideally including software engineers and QAs.  While a technical background is beneficial, your ability to support and develop people is the key to success in this role. You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, and fluency in English. You are committed to fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and inclusivity within the team.  Experience with recruitment and onboarding, ensuring the continuous growth of the team. You are also familiar with agile methodologies and best practices in software development and quality assurance.
